Fitzroy Provincial Park
Fitzroy Provincial Park in Ottawa River Ontario has been designated as a recreational-class Ontario Park. This park is largely covered in white pine. You will find many century-old trees here, along with a 300-yearold stand of bur oaks at the Carp River. The park has two campgrounds, each with comfort stations, boat launch, and a park shop. There are 235 camping sites in the main campgrounds. 107 have electrical service and 205 can accommodate trailers. A separate area has facilities for picnicking and group camping.
Ottawa Police identify a teenager who drowned at Fitzroy Provincial Park
Ottawa OPP concluded the investigation into Saturday's drowning death of an 18year-old Fitzroy Provincial Park woman.
In a Sunday release, Cheka Kazera from Ottawa was named as the victim.

OPP officers arrived at the park Saturday afternoon after a swimmer fell into the water, but didn't resurface.
According to police she had been swimming along a group of her friends at the park’s day use area.
Ottawa Fire Services sent a crew to respond and the victim's body was recovered on Saturday evening.
It was the second drowning within a span of one week. Police recovered Emir Hasanic, 33, of Ottawa. He drowned in a White Lake boating accident last weekend.

The emergency services were summoned to the park at Canon Smith Drive around 7 p.m. Sat.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police, the woman was in a group swimming at the beach of the provincial park. She did not return.
The Ottawa Fire Service and Ottawa Paramedic Service assisted Ottawa Police and the OPP with the search.
Members of the Ottawa Fire Water Rescue Unit recovered the woman's body just two hours after her disappearance.
Police identified the victim Sunday evening as Cheka Kazera of Ottawa.
This is the third drowning at Ottawa in spring/summer.
