If you have purchased a car battery from Walmart that you didn’t get around to using or it was the wrong size or unsatisfactory.
Perhaps you are now curious about the Walmart policy for returning batteries from your vehicle to it. You don’t need to do the research. This is what I discovered.
Walmart will take back car batteries and allow exchanges or returns up to 90 days from the date of purchase. Customers should retain the receipt and original packaging when returning their car batteries to Walmart. This will allow them to get a store credit or cash refund.
Walmart customers have the option to bring their batteries back under certain conditions. These typically include:

Your receipt will allow you to receive your refund in the exact same way you paid for it. You will not receive your receipt if the battery is returned without it.
How Long Is The Warranty On A Walmart Car Battery?
It will vary depending on what type of car battery was purchased. Most batteries come with at least two warranties.
You will be covered by the initial warranty, which will provide a replacement free of charge. The second warranty will offer you a prorated replacement.
For example, if your battery warranty is 5 years long. Your first three-year warranty covers free replacement. The second 2-year warranty allows for prorated replacement.
Walmart Will Pay You For Your Old Car Batteries
Walmart does not give you money in return for old car batteries; however, when you buy a battery, it usually comes with a core charge (similar to a bottle buyback scheme).
That core charge is designed to encourage people to return their old batteries when they buy a new one.
If you take your old battery back to Walmart and buy a new one, you won’t be charged the core charge again and could save between $5 and $20 on the purchase of your new battery.
How can I get my Walmart Car Battery Warranty claim?
To claim your battery warranty, you will need to visit the Walmart Auto Care Centers and go to the customer service desk.
Walmart will confirm the purchase date for your battery, and provide a free replacement battery as long as your warranty is still valid.
Will Walmart Change My Car Battery?
Walmart only installs batteries at their Walmart Auto Care Centers. Walmart stores will only install your car batteries free of charge if you purchased the battery in a Walmart location.
If you did not buy your battery at Walmart, there is a $10 installation fee.
What if I want to return household batteries to Walmart?
Household batteries fall under the same return policy that most Walmart products do. If the battery is in its original packaging, it can be returned within one year of purchase.
You will be refunded using the original method of payment if you retain a receipt.
If you do not have the receipt, you will be given a refund in store credit unless the purchase was under $25. If this is the case you will get a return in cash.
