HP Office. You will find the Jet Pro 9015e to be one of the easiest to set up. But it also prints beautifully (and quickly), scans well, has great apps for PCs and mobile devices, and prints for an affordable 2.2C/ per page in black or 8.9C/ per page in color. HP Instant Ink is a great option if you plan to print large quantities of photos. The six-month trial comes along with the initial purchase. Each color page will cost as little as 2.9C/. A compact, sleek design will make it stand out in your office. The two-year warranty is twice that offered by most comparable printers. It replaces the Office. Jet Pro 9015e is almost identical in hardware. Only the warranty length, Instant Ink trial duration, and some software options that have been bundled with HP+ are different. If you're not interested in the extras HP+ has to offer, the older 9015 is a great machine that you might be able to find at a discount.

Who Should Get This
You can determine whether an all-in one is the right choice for you by asking a few questions.
Are you a print-savy person who needs to be able to use your printer often, but not every day of the week? Averaging 100 to 500 pages per calendar month. These inkjet AIOs should work well if that is the case. You can scroll down for our upgrade pick, or look into upgrading to an enterprise grade machine. A monochrome laser printer is a great choice, as well as a quality scanning app. (Or, if you're not stuck at home in lockdown, forget the printer completely and just use the one at work, the library, or your local Fed. The Ex-store. Do you scan often? AIOs can be worthwhile if your spouse scans and prints multiple pages per month. An AIO can be a great option if you do not scan often. One of the options below is best for you. A black-andwhite laser AIO could save you money if this is the case.
These questions show that not everyone is a good candidate for color-inkjet AIOs. If you absolutely need your own printer but don't often scan, copy, or fax and don't need to print in color, monochrome laser printers are almost always a better choice for irregular usage. There have been instances when inkjets become dry and clogged if left to sit for too long without being used. You will need to clean them to prevent this from happening and increase the cost of your operation. The upside to laser printers is that they can be left unattended for up to a month or more. A monochrome laser colour laser is recommended if you scan and need to copy, but are not willing to pay more for better laser reliability. An AIO won't be able to deliver the quality you require. We used to declare that all printers were a sham. It's true that even today's best printers can be frustrating to use. Although there have been some technological advances in the printer industry, they still offer hope for the near future. Their ink-subscription service has reduced the cost of printing and keeps manufacturers earning a steady income stream. The new models have larger ink tanks that do not need to be filled as frequently. Even though wireless connections still can be shaky, HP, Canon, and other printers have adopted 5 GHz WiFi. HP advertises self-healing wireless connections. That is, the printers automatically detect any connection problems and try to fix them, or give guidance rather than simply throwing up an unclear error message. The popularity of mobile printing apps is increasing, reflecting smartphone's dominance over the PC.
Despite ongoing quality concerns, AIOs remain popular because they're a one-stop shop for home document production needs. A midrange AIO for inkjet printing is an excellent choice for anybody who scans and prints documents daily, copies them on a weekly basis, and sometimes faxes. Although their prices have dropped since our coverage began, color laser AIOs remain much more costly than inkjets. While AIOs may be masters of many trades, and masters in a few areas, they are the most cost-effective way to fulfill all document production needs that a small or home-based business might need.
How we chose
Our goal was to find the best printer for both home and office use, at a price that is affordable. Here's what we looked at to find the best of the best.
Printer type: The perfect AIO is probably an inkjet, as laser printers are still too expensive for most people. However, we did test color laser all-in-ones so that we could recommend a machine for more demanding small-business owners and home users who just don't want to deal with the frustrations that can come with inkjet ownership.
Automated Document Feeder: A wonderful AIO should have an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), as it automates large scanning and copying jobs, which will save you time.
Printing, scanning and copying duplex: Duplex (or two-sided) printing is essential. AIOs that can print both sides simultaneously are a plus. The holy grail is single-pass, duplex scan and copy printers.
Low operating costs: Toner and ink used for black-andwhite printing should be less than two cents per sheet, while color prints should only cost about three- or four times the amount. If manufacturers offer a subscription ink plan, we take that into account as well.
Superior print quality and scanning: While most printers can produce high-quality prints, we believe that some models have better results than others. Some may generate sharper text or more precise colors, while others will create photos with better resolution. We'll choose the printer that prints the highest quality print, regardless of other factors. Scanners are also important. We consider the overall quality of the scans and the ease with which the ADFs can keep large quantities of jobs.
Support for mobile print standards: Any printer being offered today should support smartphone and tablet printing protocols like Google Cloud Print, Apple Air. Mopria.

HP Office. Jet Pro 9015e isn't HP's most powerful inkjet all-in-one, but it is the best one for most people. The Jet Pro 9015e is remarkably simple to set-up and use. This printer hits the right balance between speed, quality, reliability, and speed in a way other printers simply cannot. Running costs for black printing are only 2.2C/page, and color printing is 8.9C/. There's also the option of joining HP Instant Ink for quick refills or cheaper color printing. Instant Ink can be tried for six months in the included box. Its elegant design makes it stand out against other stodgy printers. We almost forget about its small touchscreen and weak output tray. We also appreciate the 2-year warranty that this printer comes with, as it is twice what other manufacturers provide for printers of similar class.
The Office. Jet Pro 9015e's setup is easy, which we share with the Office. Jet stablemates. Go to 123.hp.com and enter your product name. Then, click the Download Button. You can now start the installer. The AIO will be connected to your computer and activated. It takes about 10 minutes. You will find that the process is modern enough and smooth to replace other brands' slow, clunky installations. The HP Smart app for Android and i.OS can be downloaded from your smartphone and used to add the printer within a matter of minutes. It's completely painless.
HP Smart apps are easy to use and can be customized to show the functions that you most use at the top.
You get enough ink for approximately 850 pages in black and white or 420 pages in color. This ink can last up to a few months depending on what you do. The running costs of the HP 962XL Ink Cartridges are very affordable. Each cartridge lasts approximately 150 pages and can be refilled every two years. Keep in mind, these are estimates based upon the page yields of each cartridge type. Actual results may vary because ink can get lost during cleaning cycles. Third-party ink is also an option, but it may produce less perfect results for glossy photos.
HP also has the Instant Ink subscription. This allows you to pick from different tiers, depending on how much paper you intend to print each month. You can select between 50 and 700 pages. Instant Ink has a reasonable cost per page of 6.6C/ in the worst case and 3.6C/ the best. What's more, printing color pages is as affordable as printing black. Service automatically dispatches new cartridges if ink runs dry. Rollovers of unutilized pages can be up to 3x your monthly plan. Additional "sets", which are 10-15 pages each, will cost you $1. You can also change your subscription tier whenever you like, if your needs change. Currenty, Instant Ink is available for free on the 9015e. You can also refer friends and get extra months.
There are flaws, but not dealbreakers
The Office. Jet Pro 9015e's biggest shortcoming is probably its single 250-sheet paper tray. It's standard for home printers, but it might not be sufficient to meet the needs of some users. The only problem with this printer is that you can't use the one-piece tray. You'll need to replace your paper each time you want to print on legal, label, photo stock or resume papers. You'd prefer to use a dual tray printer, such as the Office. Jet Pro9025e Our dislike for HP's sluggish slide-andfold output tray that extends beyond the printer's front is not surprising. The Office is one of our favorite features. Jet Pro 8720 was our prior pick. It had a built-in output tray, behind the huge touchscreen. Your documents would be less likely fall and get scattered all over your office. Not so with the new model.
Displays aside, the display on the 9015e measures just 2.7 inches. It's simple to use, but it can be difficult to access the tiny buttons such as the Gear icon to go to the Settings menu. Expect some mis-taps.
This port does not allow for the printing of Word documents. But, images and PDFs can still be printed. Ben Keough. While the USB port at the left is handy for a printer this cheap, buyers should know that Word files and JPEGs are not allowed through it. Scans can also be saved to USB as JPEGs, PDFs.
The Office. The Jet Pro 9015e can produce excellent snapshot prints with sharpness and vivid color. Only thing is, those colors aren't perfectly accurate. The glossy prints from the 9015e showed a slight blue-magenta shift and overaggressive contrast in our tests. It's not a problem if you are printing photos for your fridge. However, if the purpose of the print is to be taken on the go, this will likely cause you to have to stop at one side to dry ink. However, the 9015e (and other models in the current Office. Jet Pro series) seem to take a longer pause than other printers we tested. While speed may be an important concern in home printer usage, the constant reminder to wait for ink to dry can prove frustrating, especially with larger print jobs.
Budget selection
Brother MFC-J805DW Brother's entry level AIO offers the best value for money. Although it may not be the fastest or most well designed AIO, nor the easiest to use, Brother's AIO produces beautiful scans and prints.

The Brother MFCJ805DW printer is an excellent budget choice. It is affordable, but it does everything well. It's not easy to find a printer affordable that is good for all purposes. People who aren't able to afford big or who have limited productivity requirements will appreciate the combination of low upfront costs and high print quality. The MFCJ805DW has great features, such as a fast printing speed, good control, and low running cost.
You get the MFC-J805DW for $120. It comes with 1 080 pages of black ink, and 720 pages of color. That's not quite up to the lofty standards of a true ink-tank-style printer , but compare it with the 265 monochrome and 310 color pages that come with the similarly priced HP Office. Jet Pro 8025e, and you begin to understand how generous Brother's offering really is. A brand new set ultra-high quality cartridges for MFCJ805DW costs approximately $240. They contain enough ink to produce 6,000 black pages and 5,000 colored pages. That math works out to less than 1C/ per page for monochrome and 4.7C/ per page for color. We were unable to find any printers with these numbers that beat ink-tank printers which we don't like.
The print quality is great, too. The text we tested was clear and bright, with fonts lower than six points becoming a bit difficult to read. Graphics popped, if not with quite the same vibrance as we'd get from HP's ink. While the MFC-1805DW does not support borderless printing it is capable of producing glossy photos with good sharpness and a more natural saturation and contrast than HP's increased output. Some photographers might find the color tones a little too warm or greenish. For casual framing and fridge display, most people will find these results acceptable.
Brother's installer immediately lets you know this is an old-school printer. You can see and feel that the installer is a Windows XP product. It installs a slew more "helper” applications than you would expect. Despite this, the MFCJ805DW was easy to print and get online. It's easy to use the large rubber buttons and non-touch LCD. The telephone-style keypad made entering Wi-Fi passwords slightly easier than with the HP 9015e's touchscreen keyboard QWERTY, but you won't have to do it again.
