Bytown Museum Offering A Look At Ottawa'S Public Transit History

Stephen Mattiussi from the museum's visitor experiences manager says public transit will become more popular as the city expands its LRT.

"Transit affects our everyday lives. Mattiussi says that transit has an impact on everyone's lives, regardless of whether they are affected by the road conditions or if someone needs to use the bus to travel to work.

Paul J. Henry (City Archivist of Ottawa) will address the audience.

Mattiussi states that the event is free but donations are welcomed.

The Bytown Museum is a museum that tells the tale of Bytown from its early days to the present day.

This guide can be listened in English, French German, Spanish Spanish Mandarin, Mandarin, Japanese, Spanish and Spanish. Take a stroll down the locks to the Parliament Buildings for a beautiful view of the Ottawa River. There are many wonderful shops and restaurants at the nearby Byward Market. You deserve a full-fledged experience to kick off your stay.

Visit The Rideau Canal and The Bytown Museum

Quarantine Cafe Hour June 18 explores Canada’s Rideau Canal Erie Canal Museum. Live on Facebook at 10 am Thursday, June 18. The public is welcome to attend the program.

Stephen Mattiussi, the manager of Visitor Experience at Bytown Museum Ottawa (Canada), will present the story of the Rideau Canal. The Rideau Canal opened in 1832, and connects Ottawa to Lake Ontario and the Saint Lawrence River at Kingston, Ontario. The majority of the original structures remain intact and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Bytown Museum is situated near the Rideau Canal's Ottawa locks.
